Gen. Cheng recently presided over the “2025 Joint Opening Ceremony of the ROC Air Force Academy and Air Force Institute of Technology” in Kaohsiung. Gen. Cheng welcomed the new students, encouraging them to strive for excellence and to remain unwavering in the face of adversity. Most importantly, he expressed his hope that all of them would dedicate themselves to learning in preparation for the future.
During his opening remarks, Gen. Cheng urged students to plan their career paths, develop their expertise, expand their language abilities, and dedicate themselves to pioneering the next generation of the military. Furthermore, Gen. Cheng reminded everyone that with the rapid evolution of technology, the ability to adapt and use AI has become increasingly important in modern warfare.
Finally, Gen. Cheng advised officers to help the new students adjust to their new environment with love and compassion. In contrast, senior students should share their experiences and help them cultivate positive attitudes and goals — thereby passing on the legacy of the ROCAF and the Jianqiao Spirit.
