On August 4, ROCAF Chief Gen. Cheng went to northern Taiwan on behalf of the Minister of National Defense, Wellington Koo, to present Deng Ming-jin, the recipient of the “2025 Model Father Award”, with a plaque and some gifts. Gen. Cheng thanked Deng for his sacrifices as a father, making the event all the more heartwarming.
Gen. Cheng noted that Deng had long dedicated himself to community service and charitable work. Deng had participated in the “Dr. Toy” charity drive, where he repaired toys for children, and was regarded as a role model by the community due to his numerous acts of kindness and goodwill. In addition, his eldest son and daughter-in-law now serve in the Air Force Academy and the Army Command Headquarters— serving the country with honor and pride.
Finally, Gen. Cheng reminded all service members of the importance of caring for their parents and maintaining harmony in the family. Gen. Cheng encouraged everyone to honor their families by committing themselves to their country and striving for excellence.
