The Han Kuang 41 Exercise, the military’s annual field training exercise, kicked off on July 10, with ROCAF tactical fighter wings speedily carrying out operational redeployment. Aircraft, including the F-16, IDF, and Mirage 2000-5, headed towards various dispersed operation locations after being armed and prepared. Such force dispersion enables the ROCAF to preserve its forces during wartime and enhances the nation’s defense capabilities.
During the early hours of July 10, ground crews quickly armed and prepared all combat aircraft. At the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing, ground crews used bomb lift trucks to transport Sky Sword II air-to-air missiles to the fighter aircraft, then lifted and armed them onto each aircraft. Ground crews were able to quickly and successfully complete this complex task, showcasing their expertise and training.
Each pilot worked seamlessly with their respective ground crew chief, conducting a 360-degree inspection of the aircraft and checking the aircraft’s electronic navigation system, engines, and landing gear. After confirming aircraft readiness, each aircraft proceeded to leave its aircraft shelters to prepare for takeoff. This force dispersion exercise is designed to protect the ROCAF’s aircraft during wartime, thereby providing in-depth defense and enhancing the nation’s overall defense capabilities.
