ROCAF Assists Passengers in Returning Home Safely

As the Lantern Festival at the Penghu Islands came to end, droves of people began their long journey back home; however, rough seas caused by the northeast monsoon disrupted transportation, resulting in a number of passengers being stranded at the airport. Upon being notified of the situation by the Civilian Aviation Administration, the Ministry of National Defense immediately provided assistance. The ROCAF 6th Mixed Wing deployed C-130H transport aircraft to the Penghu Islands to assist stranded passengers in returning home, demonstrating the military’s compassion and love for its people.

The C-130H transport aircraft conducted 3 sorties from Magong City to Siaogang, safely ferrying 210 people back to Taiwan proper and resolving the transportation crisis. By enabling passengers to return home safely in the shortest time possible, the military proved its ability to respond decisively and rapidly.

Throughout the operation, both air and ground personnel worked tirelessly to ensure that pre-flight preparations and flight procedures were in order. Ground personnel also guided passengers in exiting the plane and assisted with unloading their luggage, allowing the entire operation to be conducted efficiently. Thanks to the expertise and teamwork of personnel honed through constant training, the mission was a great success, exemplifying not only the Air Force’s capabilities but its commitment and duty to protecting and serving the people.
