Gen. Cheng presented the 2025 Model Mother Award to Syong Yun-ci on behalf of Wellington Koo, Minister of National Defense. In addition to the award, Gen. Cheng also gifted her with a plaque, gifts, and prize money in recognition of her extraordinary sacrifices.
Gen. Cheng commended Ms. Syong for her frugality, filial piety, and integrity in setting an example for her children. In addition to encouraging her children to join the military, Ms. Syong also dedicated herself to charity and volunteer work. Thus, Ms. Syong is rightfully recognized for her kindness, compassion, integrity, and many exemplary accomplishments.
During the ceremony, Gen. Cheng thanked mothers everywhere for their years of sacrifice and care for their children. He urged all ROCAF service members to transform the warmth and care they have received from their mothers into a motivating force for carrying out combat readiness operations - expressing gratitude through seeking excellence.
