On behalf of Defense Minister Wellington Koo and Chief of the General Staff Admiral Mei Chia-shu, ROCAF Chief Gen. Cheng recently visited Maj. Lin, a recently rescued pilot, is now recuperating in the Taitung MacKay Memorial Hospital. Gen. Cheng commended Maj. Lin for confronting danger with calm confidence, demonstrating his unit’s thorough and practical training.
In addition to commending Maj. Lin, Gen. Cheng also expressed concern for his family. Following this meeting, Gen. Cheng headed to Taitung Zhi-Hang Air Base to be briefed on the investigation progress, where he also praised the unit’s effective training and their ability to rapidly conduct rescue missions.
To ensure combat readiness, Gen. Cheng emphasized that high alertness was a necessity for all missions and that the purpose of training was to ensure appropriate responses in emergencies. Gen. Cheng expressed his hope that all service members could be united in their mission to defend the skies of the nation.
