To strengthen and raise awareness of confidentiality measures for all service members, the Air Force Command Headquarters held the “2024 Confidentiality Seminar” at Zhongyong Base on December 10. The seminar was presided over by ROCAF Vice Chief Lt. Gen. Tsao Chin-pin, and invited Huang Kuan-chung, a prosecutor from the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, to give a keynote speech. This Seminar aims to provide service members with a greater understanding of hostile incursions and methods used to gather intelligence, enabling them to better safeguard their security.
During the seminar, Prosecutor Huang gave a speech on the topic of “Investigating Confidentiality Breaches in Mainland China: Experience and Case Studies” and gave presentations on rules and regulations such as the National Security Act, the Classified National Security Information Protection Act, and the Criminal Code of the Armed Forces. These presentations educate service members on proper confidentiality practices through analyses, essential elements, and case studies, thereby enhancing their vigilance for the future.
As Lt. Gen. Tsao concluded the Seminar, he remarked that all service members should maintain a high degree of vigilance and caution. Each service member should remember that “confidentiality is everyone’s duty”, and thoroughly investigate and report any suspicious activities. By identifying potential risks beforehand, a unit’s security and confidentiality can be maintained.
