ROCAF Chief Gen. Cheng Jung-feng recently inspected the combat readiness of air defense forces in the Taichung area. During Gen. Cheng’s inspection, he expressed concern over the well-being of personnel and acknowledged their efforts to their duties, and encouraged them to continue honing their skillsets and enhance air defense by improving their response capabilities.
After first being briefed on the unit’s training plans, Gen. Cheng proceeded to visit the equipment area and living quarters, enabling him to better understand combat preparations and how personnel were taking leave. He reminded personnel that with the recent cold change in the weather, it was important that everyone paid close attention to their health as well as plan their leave carefully. By maintaining strict military discipline, the combat capabilities of military forces can be well preserved.
Gen. Cheng reiterated that aside from trying their utmost in carrying out combat readiness drills, all officers should make every effort to boost recruitment and retention among the ranks. Officers should strive to understand each and every one of their subordinates, and be aware of their duties, mental well-being, financial situation, and plans during leave. By leveraging an organization’s advantages, officers will be able to provide guidance and counseling if any risk indicators appear. Such actions enable the ROCAF to establish a firm and safe work environment, thereby reinforcing the ROCAF’s air defense resilience.
