History and development of the academy

The predecessor of the Air Force Academy was the Aviation Squadron under the National Military Academy and was established in Nanjing in 1928. It was reorganized as the aviation class in 2019 and was founded in Jianqiao in 1931. It was given the title as National Aviation School on September 1, 1932, and renamed as Air Force Academy on July 1, 1938. The academy was relocated to Gangshan, Taiwan, in 1949. The academy continues the unaccomplished mission of the late Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the founder of the Republic of China to train outstanding young people with philosophy, science and military science so that they could have their talent and physical fitness well-developed, and learn the professional knowledge of aviation and flying skill as the core group in building up the air force.
